I thought I'd post a pic of our little Fur Baby - Zuri.... here she is sleeping in human position in our downstairs bedroom. By the way, Zuri means 'beautiful one' in Swahili. We adopted her from the RSPCA in April this year and she is now 11 months old.
I have made a pact that, when we do eventually have a real baby, Zuri will still be showered with the tonnes of love and affection she currently receives! I didn't think it would be possible to love anything so much, but, goodness gracious, how we do love her!?
On fertility-related issues - exciting news! DH and I are not paedophiles or child traffickers!!! We got our police checks back today - all clear. Woo hooo! For those of you in other countries, here in Victoria, Aus, federal law requires IVF applicants to obtain a police clearance and child protection check before IVF treatment can begin. I spent a whole week wallowing in misery before I could even fill out the forms, but eventually pulled myself together and, as with all things IVF-related, 'just did it'.
Anyway - it's done now - yay!
Hope everyone is having a great week and, can I just say how much I'm enjoying reading everyone's blogs?! Sending lots and lots of baby dust to everyone :-)
Nawwwww she is adorable! I totally love my fur babies Sasha & Frankie. I have already made it very clear to everyone that they are going to be just as spoilt and I let Sasha know she is going to be a big sister and head of the household. Altho, I reckon she knows something is up because she has been a bit shirty with me lately! ha ha. Frankie is just too adorable he just wants cuddles 24/7.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting the checks done. All the boring paperwork is out of the way and now you can start on the fun stuff :)
Yay! thanks Chon and glad that your fur babies are well too! Animals are so clever - it doesn't surprise me at all the Sasha knows something is up :-)
ReplyDeleteWow! I had no idea you had to do all that paperwork!! On the other hand, glad everything checked out ok! Enjoying keeping up with you!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I think fur babies are extremely important to the IF journey. The hub and I have 3 dogs and they make the world turn as far as I'm concerned. Not sure how I'd get through all this grief without them. We've had Bella for 3 years (before we were even considering TTC), Xena the blind 15 yr old came to live with us a little over a year ago because she needed a home, and Benny we got in July when I was in a rough patch. That sweet little face has gotten me through some pretty tough times. I'm glad you have Zuri and that she gives you love back, she has such a beautiful name!
ReplyDeleteOh gorgeous! Our dog gets into that position as well at times.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got the police clearance, at least it is one thing out the way.
Thanks still hoping, Izzy and Heather.... enjoying keeping up with your blogs too!
ReplyDeleteShe is adorable! YAY for the clearance! Now that is one less thing to think about and one step closer!
