Another box ticked. We submitted our police and child protection forms by registered mail today.
Last week, when I printed out the 30 odd pages of forms and started filling them out, I ended up sobbing my heart out at my desk and I just had to put them aside until I felt stronger.
After being told that IVF is pretty much our only option of becoming parents, having to prove that we are not paedophiles or child traffickers is like rubbing salt into an already bleeding wound.
But it's just the way it is done here in Australia and we have to accept it. It's all done now and I feel relieved that we can go to our medical appointments next week knowing that these checks are under way. Onwards and upwards!
