27 weeks!

The countdown has begun!  8 weeks till I finish work and 10 weeks away from the 37 week mark.  I can't believe how time is flying. :-)

Due date: 28 December 2012

How far along?: 27 weeks

Total weight loss/gain: 11kgs - I've put on 5kgs in the last 6 weeks but still don't feel too big.  Think it must be blood and fluid mainly!

What's going on with the baby?:  He is kicking madly and starting to interact with B and I when we tickle him and poke him back. Just amazing

What's going on with my body?:  Feeling fantastic still!  I've had a bit of insomnia but it's mainly because of work stress I think.. Frequent trips to the loo have also become the norm again.

What does the belly look like?: Still fairly petite but a little more 'out there'!  People have started standing up for me on the train!

Maternity clothes: I've bought a few new summer dresses and a swim suit... very excited to be able to head to the beach soon.  It was 27 degrees today here today, so getting into summer now. yay!

Movement: Loads and loads.  Some days he is quite quiet but other days feel like he's practicing triathlons like his dad!

Sleep:  I'm still using the hypnobirthing relaxation techniques to help me sleep - they work like a charm!  I find I can use the techniques to get me into a really relaxed state so that I can easily fall back to sleep after waking up in the middle of the night (with my mind racing!).

Cravings/aversions:   I have definitely been more hungry and craving lots of pasta!

Sex of the baby: It's a boy!!

What I miss: nothing at all. I'm just so happy to be here finally.

What I am looking forward to: Going on maternity leave - it just can't come soon enough.  I have my work seriously cut out for me over October - I have to visit all my clients and conduct handovers to the new account managers.  It's going to be interesting with me getting bigger and bigger.

Mood: Excellent.

Milestones:  People standing up on the train for me!

Medical concerns: I am still taking my aspirin daily (for my genetic clotting disorder) and there were some concerns around this disorder increasing the chances of preeclampsia and placental abruption, but I have worked very hard to put thoughts about these things out of my mind.  Our detailed 26 week growth scan was all perfect and since then, I've felt a lot more relaxed.  I think we are going to be just fine!

Best moment of the week: Receiving a whole SUITCASE full of the most adorable baby boy clothes from friends who's next baby is due to be a girl!

Hows Daddy?: B is very well and connecting more and more with our baby every day - I think he is extremely excited.

Some funny/cute things Hubby has said:  B refers to me going into labour as 'Comet coming out of his orbit'  I just LOVE IT!

Nursery: It's 95% done and looking lovely!  Just some shelves and photos to hang and then I'll post pics - I promise!

My baby shower is on 10 November and I'm really really excited for that too.  We're having a picnic high tea in my garden with champagne, lemonade, catered finger foods and delicious cupcakes!  We'll decorate the garden with colourful picnic rugs, white lanterns and colourful bunting.  We've even got family and friends flying down from interstate.  We are just so blessed!

I hope you are all well and look forward to catching up on all your blogs in the coming days.  Work has been so stressful that I've not managed to in the last 2 weeks.... but I'll get there!
